My sister told me my chicken wings were rubbery and she was right
She came over for dinner last week and I made my usual frozen wings at 400 for 20 minutes. She took one bite and said they taste like chewing on a shoe. I bumped the temp to 380 and added 5 more minutes and now they actually have some crunch. Has anyone else had to totally redo their wing timing after someone called them out?

My buddy Mike had the same thing happen with his ribs a couple years ago. His wife told him they were dry as cardboard and he got so mad he smoked another rack for 6 hours the next weekend just to prove a point. Funny how one comment can make you rethink everything you thought you knew about cooking.

Six hours is commitment right there, I respect that level of stubbornness. @harper914 that story about your buddy is basically a masterclass in how to take criticism the wrong way but end up with better ribs anyway. I mean, his wife calling them dry as cardboard is harsh but maybe she was just trying to help. Probably not worth a full weekend of spite smoking though. At least he got a good rack out of it in the end.
