The days of splicing into phone lines for alarm triggers feel like a lifetime ago
I remember back in the late 90s running 4-conductor wire to every door and window, now half my jobs are wireless and I'm just pairing sensors through an app. Has the reliability really improved that much or are we just trading one set of headaches for another?

Changed my mind after a big commercial job went totally wireless without a single false alarm in two years.

Heard the exact same thing from a buddy who runs a mid-sized install company, swore up and down wireless was garbage for years. Then they did this massive retro-fit on an old office building (like, 50+ sensors, the whole deal) and not a single hiccup in 18 months. He still jokes that he's waiting for the other shoe to drop, but honestly, the tech has come a long way from the old drop-out days. It's kind of hard to argue with that kind of track record, you know? Makes you wonder if the wired-only crowd is just set in their ways at this point.
