Overheard someone at the diner say the 1995 VCR tape of the Ariel Phenomenon was 'better CGI than anything today'
I was eating breakfast at Mel's Diner on Route 9 last Saturday and this guy in the next booth was telling his friend about a leaked VHS tape from 1995 showing a UFO hovering over a school in Zimbabwe. He claimed the kids in the video were too scared to be actors, like real terror. Made me wonder if we overthink CGI when sometimes the raw footage just looks too weird to be fake... has anyone actually tracked down that full 45 minute tape?

Yeah that "too scared to be actors" part always gets me too.

Right there with you on that. It's one of those lines that just sticks with you because it's so true. People think being an actor is all about fame and money, but they forget how much rejection and criticism comes with it. A lot of folks just don't have the thick skin for that kind of life. It takes a certain kind of person to put yourself out there like that day after day.
