inShowerthought: I started wrapping my brisket in butcher paper after the bark set and it fixed my soggy bark problem
Yeah my buddy had the same thing happen with his last smoke.

inUpdate: My old Detroit 60 series went from 4 mpg to 6.5 after swapping the injectors and tuning the pump.
Read a forum post where a guy chased a similar haze for weeks. Turned out to be a cracked injector washer you could barely see. He replaced all the copper seals and the smoke cleared right up. Those old fuel lines can also get a hairline crack that only shows under pressure. Might be worth pulling them off for a real close look.

inRemember using the sun to stay on trail? With more trees now, I look for deer runs instead...
Checking the sun is a good start, but it moves a lot. You really need a compass or a map to get a solid bearing.

inTalking to a firefighter neighbor changed how I think about system testing
Glow in the dark is a great idea, I never thought of that. My old boss made us put big reflective stickers on all the main panels, not just a label. It really helps when the power is out and a flashlight beam hits it. What about putting those stickers on the actual door to the utility room too?

Honestly, a cracked coil sounds wild but is it really that big of a deal? Tbh, stuff just breaks sometimes in weird ways.
