Rant: I laughed at my brother's "alien antenna" video for 3 months, then he showed me the raw file
My brother sent me a clip back in April of what he swore was a floating metal rod above his shed in Reno, and I told him it was a drone with fishing line, end of story. He kept bugging me about it, so last month I finally opened the original file on his laptop and saw the rod cast a shadow on the roof at the same angle as the power lines. I still think 9 out of 10 of these clips are faked with After Effects, but sitting there moving frame by frame with him, I couldn't poke a hole in that one. Your mileage may vary since I'm no video expert, but has anyone else had a clip they wrote off turn out to hold up under a closer look?

Hold on, the shadow matched the power lines? That's the part that gets me, because a fake would never bother getting the light right. Your brother might actually have something there.
