My sighting report got torn apart, and I'm glad it did

Back in March I posted a detailed UFO sighting from outside Tulsa, and someone pointed out my light trail was exactly what an airplane wingtip looks like on a long exposure. I was seeing two blinking lights going one direction, but they showed me the FAA flight path for that night and it matched to the minute. I changed how I record everything now, including timestamps and where I stand, plus I sketch the horizon so I can compare angles later. It hurt at first, but that one comment made my second report way stronger. Has anyone else had a skeptic actually improve their documentation style?

Did you end up adding a compass heading or using a sky map app after that, because I found those two changes made my own reports way less embarrassing to share?

The sky map app was a total game changer for me too, I read that somewhere and it saved my butt.
