Trying to find a specific anime clip from a 2005 con panel took me 3 days
I was trying to show a friend this old clip of a voice actor messing up a line at Anime Expo 2005. I knew the show and the con, but not the panel name. I dug through dead forums, old YouTube accounts, and even a Geocities archive. It took me three full days of searching before I found it on a random Vimeo upload from 2012. Some people say this kind of deep dive is part of the fun, others think it's a huge waste of time. What's the longest you've spent hunting down a piece of lost anime media?

Honestly, ever think about how much of this stuff is just gone forever? Like those old fan sub groups whose websites just vanished.

Ugh, I used to think the web saved everything. But @the_piper is right, it's a huge graveyard. I remember trying to find an old forum for a cartoon I liked, and it was just GONE. All those posts and inside jokes, totally wiped. It really makes you see how much history we're losing without even noticing.
