inFound a stat about ear infections in divers that blew my mind
Over 60% of commercial divers" getting ear infections shows how something we think is rare is actually super common.

inSpent $150 on a fancy kitchen scale and it's been a total game changer
Thought scales were for people way too serious about baking" - that was me for years. My sister kept trying to get me to measure my flour and I'd just roll my eyes. Then I ruined a $40 batch of King Arthur flour on a single weekend and finally caved. Bought a basic OXO and it was like seeing in color for the first time. Still have flour everywhere too, but at least now my loaves actually rise.

inTook me 4 hours to diag a bad ground on a 2015 F-150 that had me stumped for 2 days
Nah, I gotta push back a little here. Yeah grounds are important and definitely a common issue, but a loose bolt under the battery tray isn't always the magic fix. I've seen plenty of Fords from that era where the Crank sensor was legitimately bad and a new one fixed it right away. The wiggle test is a good first step for sure, but sometimes you're dealing with an intermittent failure in the sensor itself that won't show up until it's hot or under load. So chasing that for 2 days isn't necessarily wasted time if the grounds check out fine early on.

inFound out today that adding water to concrete after it's mixed can drop PSI by 40%
Man, @brianreed hit the nail on the head about that pencil crack. I've seen the same thing on a buddy's driveway out in Beaverton - it's like a spiderweb now and it's barely three years old. What gets me is the logic on site: they think a little extra water just saves trouble, but nobody ever stops to ask if the extra water is worth a slab that might not hold up past the warranty. Do any of you guys ever pull out the ACI stat on the spot and risk pissing off the foreman, or is it just easier to let them hose it down and move on?

inSwitched from hand troweling to power trowels on flatwork and it messed me up for weeks
Gotta disagree on letting the trowel do the work. I've seen too many guys get lazy with that approach and end up with a wavy mess. You need some muscle to keep the blades biting, especially if the mix is stiff. Overlap trick is solid though, can't argue that one.
