Climbing spikes on a live oak in Savannah did more harm than the storm did
I was called in after Hurricane Helene to clear a broken limb and the homeowner insisted I spike up the trunk to save time, but those wounds are gonna be entry points for rot for years, and I ended up refusing the job and walking away, has anyone else had to turn down paying work over this?
You're spot on about that, @keith_bennett. I learned that the hard way last season, the leaves looked fine but the whole plant was struggling underneath, and it took forever to bounce back.
