I asked a question about a 1998 forum archive and got a reply from the original creator.

I was trying to find out why a specific thread from a vintage car forum vanished, and after posting here, the guy who ran the whole thing in '98 emailed me with the server logs from that exact day.

How wild is that, the actual guy from back then still has the logs? I had something similar happen when I was digging through old gaming forum posts about a mod that got pulled. Out of the blue, the person who coded the thing chimed in on a dead thread to explain the whole drama. It's like the internet has ghosts that just... wake up sometimes. Makes you wonder what else is still out there, just waiting for the right question.

Yeah, the "internet ghosts" thing is so real. I once found a ten year old blog post about a weird software bug, and the original dev left a comment last year with the fix. It's like these old corners of the web are just dormant, not dead.
