PSA: My 12 year old nephew made me rethink how I use YouTube tutorials

I was showing him how to fix a broken drawer slide and pulled up a 20 minute video. He just looked at me and said 'why don't you skip to when he shows the screw?' I never thought to jump ahead like that. Now I save like 10 minutes per project just by scrolling to the good part first. Anyone else been doing this forever and I was the last to catch on?

Jump right into the video and drag the progress bar around until you spot what you need, @taraross - but actually, most videos DO have chapter markers now if you look right below the player, so you can click straight to the screw part without guessing.

Wait, people actually watch the whole 20 minutes before getting to the part they need? That's wild, I thought everyone just clicked around until they found the right spot.

Never thought to check if videos have chapter markers for the same reason.
