Took me 4 months to figure out my water bill was a toilet flapper
Honestly, my water bill jumped from $45 to $110 in May and I spent forever checking sprinklers, the water heater, even called the city twice. Turns out a $6 flapper in the upstairs toilet was slowly leaking. I only caught it cause I put food coloring in the tank after reading a random Reddit thread. Took me maybe 20 minutes to swap it out once I knew what to look for. Has anyone else had a sneaky leak that took way too long to pin down?
