Question about the 100th car I fixed this year

I just finished a 2018 Honda Civic that had a busted quarter panel from a parking lot hit, and my shop's system showed it was my 100th repair for 2024. I mean, I never really kept count before, but hitting that number made me realize how much volume we're pushing through. Do you guys track your yearly repair count, and does it change how you look at your work?

Hitting 100 repairs sounds like a big deal, but honestly, does the number itself change the work? It's still the same dented quarter panel whether it's number 99 or 100. I get that shops track this stuff for business reasons, but for the person doing the work, a number on a screen is just a number. It doesn't make the repair any better or worse, you know? I've never found that counting jobs makes me feel any different about the actual task in front of me.

Sure, but hitting a round number like 100 can be a nice little morale boost, @the_piper.
