That drying towel I thought was clean actually scratched my paint
I washed my microfiber drying towel with a regular fabric softener sheet by accident last week and used it on my wife's Honda Civic. Now there are fine swirl marks all over the hood that I have to buff out this weekend. How many of you have ruined a detail job by accidentally using the wrong laundry product on your towels?

Oh man, that's a gut punch. I did the exact same thing last year with my good Cobra towels and some cheap fabric softener. Spent three hours correcting swirls on my own car, felt like a total idiot the whole time. Now I keep my detailing towels in a separate bin with a big red label that says "NO SOFTENER, NO BLEACH, OR ELSE." It's like a constant battle between wanting clean towels and not ruining my paint.

Honestly I just toss mine in with everything else and haven't had issues.

Felt that one deep. I've got a separate hamper for my microfiber now with a huge sharpie warning on it. Learned that lesson the hard way too.
