Hit 10 automated replies in one week at my shop and it changed my mind on AI

Whoa, thats a pretty wild stat honestly. I think the real game changer here isnt just the money it made you but the fact that it probably saved you from burnout too. Every call you miss isnt just lost cash it adds stress and makes you feel like you're always behind. The ai basically gave you more time to actually do the work instead of just chasing it. Plus those customers get a fast answer and dont hate waiting around so it kinda wins on both sides.

Noticed my pruning cuts got way better after I slowed down

Man, I was the same way for years. I used to think speed was everything, like it showed I was experienced or something. Then about two years ago I had to re-do a whole row of crepe myrtles because I cut them all wrong the first time. That extra 30 seconds to find the collar is a game changer. I still catch myself rushing when it's hot though, and I always regret it when I look back at the tree later. You're right, slowing down does save time on having to explain bad cuts to clients.

Talked to a guy who had camped in Alaska for 30 years and he said sleeping bags are a waste of money if you have the right layering system

My old man once told me the secret to a good lawn mower carburetor was to shake it like a Polaroid picture, then tap it with a wrench. I followed his advice for a year before realizing he was just messing with me, but the mower still ran fine somehow. Anyone else got a piece of "expert" advice that turned out to be pure BS?

I finally stopped overcomplicating my solar battery bank setup

Yeah I read somewhere that those cheap controllers can't handle the feedback from higher watt motors, they just fry the mosfets. @grant478 is probably right that relying on a Bluetooth app instead of a multimeter is asking for trouble, especially with budget parts. Sounds like your buddy learned the hard way what happens when the magic smoke escapes.

Overheard a nomad say he books hostels for 2 weeks minimum now

Double down on that Tessa, long stays get the loyalty treatment for sure.
