A guy at a rest stop outside Amarillo told me he only hauls cars he can see, and I've been thinking about it
I was grabbing coffee at a truck stop off I-40 two weeks ago and overheard a carrier telling a young driver he turns down any broker load where he can't do a live walkaround of the vehicle first. He said three of his last five problems came from cars he picked up sight unseen, and now he eats the empty miles instead. Does anyone here ask their broker straight up if the driver inspects the car before loading, or is that just something smaller carriers do?
