Changed my mind about robot baristas after a visit to a cafe in Austin

I went to this place called Joe's Brew and saw their robot arm making lattes. It messed up the first three orders and a real person had to step in. Has anyone else watched one of these things fail in person?

I mean, that reminds me of the time I saw one of those robot vacuums at a friend's house and it just kept bumping into the same corner over and over. It was like it had a vendetta against that one spot or something. I watched it for a good five minutes and it never figured it out. Maybe it's just me but I'd rather have a person messing up my coffee than a machine that's got a death wish on a corner.

Funny you mention that, it reminds me of the old GPS units from back in the day. I had one that would insist I turn left into a pond just to save two minutes. It's like these things have a stubborn streak we can't talk sense into.
