inSaw a shop in Tacoma using only water-based paints now
Cooper's right about it being a bigger shift. I see it with cleaning products and even printer ink now. The first versions of these eco swaps are usually worse, but they do tend to get good enough over time.

inMy buddy sent me a fake video of our old coach last week and I totally fell for it
That's a solid prank, honestly. The free tools are getting way too good. Makes you wonder what you've already believed without knowing.

inShoutout to the old timer at the swap meet who said something about film advance gears
Told a guy his Minolta's film door latch was made of unobtainium. I laid the broken piece next to a working one so he could see the difference. Explained it wasn't about skill, but about stuff that doesn't exist anymore. He ended up buying it as a parts donor anyway.

inQuestion about a custom built-in that failed after only a year
Disagree completely. Pocket screws with glue are fine if you build it right. The problem was the missing back panel, not the joinery. A full sheet of plywood screwed and glued to the back acts like a big brace, it stops any racking or sagging. You built a tall box with no real support in the back, of course it folded. Next time, use the pocket screws for the case but always include that structural back.
