Went to a self-checkout car wash and the machine upcharged me for nothing
Stopped at that new automated car wash off Route 9 in Danbury yesterday. Picked the basic $12 wash, but the touchscreen shoved a $18 package at me with a picture of glowing tires, so I tapped no. Then the machine charged me $14 anyway and the receipt said I got the "premium foam" which I definitely didn't. The whole thing runs without a single person on site, and the error line just plays a recorded message. Anyone else get nickeled and dimed by these robot-operated places and wonder if the algorithm is just doing it on purpose?
That $2 difference is oddly specific, like the machine just picked a number it thought you wouldn't notice. Did you try calling the number on the receipt or did that go to the same recorded message?
