Watched The Bear in 3 Days and Forgot What Normal Cooking Looks Like
I started The Bear on a Tuesday night and by Friday morning I had finished all 3 seasons. The before shot is me actually relaxing with a show. The after shot is me pacing around my kitchen feeling stressed because my onions arent caramelizing fast enough. That show completely rewired my brain about how kitchens work. Now I find myself yelling at my own stove when things dont go right and I dont even work in a restaurant. My wife keeps asking me why I'm so aggressive with a spatula. Has anyone else had a show totally mess with their head like this?
Bro fr the spatula aggression is real. I literally bought a new knife set after season 1 cause i felt like i was using a butter knife compared to what they had. My onions are always on that struggling caramelizing tip too haha. Best advice i got was to start a simple timer for stuff like that, forces you to step back and breathe. Also watch some cooking shows that are more chill like Babish or something to balance out the chaos. Just don't try the "yes chef" energy on your wife learned that one the hard way.
