APU connector pins, factory tool vs dental pick after a long night
Had a 737 APU fire loop connector with corroded pins last month, tried using my standard terminal tool for like 20 min and kept mangling the socket. Pulled out the dental pick set from my kit and had all 3 pins cleaned and reseated in under 5 minutes. The angled tip just grabs way better in those tight spots, especially when your hands are shaking from being on graveyard. Anyone else keep a cheap dental set in their box, or am I the only one who gets weird looks from the line guys?
Dental pick after a long night" might be the most relatable sentence I've read all week. I keep a cheap set in my bag too, right next to the screwdrivers, and the line guys definitely give me side eye when I pull them out. But honestly, once you go angled pick, you can't go back. The factory tools feel like they're made for a lab bench, not a dark ramp at 3 AM. Cheers to you for figuring out what actually works.
