So the wire was chewed clean through or just exposed?

2015 Honda Accord, passenger side headlight. My buddy's rat chewed the jacket off a 14 gauge wire right where it bent into the connector, but the copper was still intact. No short happened, it just rubbed raw against the metal bracket until it finally grounded out and blew the fuse. That's the thing, sometimes it's not a clean cut, it's the insulation getting chewed off and the wire making contact with something it shouldn't. If it was clean through you'd see the broken end and know for sure, but exposed copper is way sneakier and harder to track down.
