Just compared two versions of 'The Room' and one was way worse

I watched the original 2003 'The Room' with Tommy Wiseau on a busted DVD last week... then found a fan edit that tried to 'fix' the movie by cutting out the nonsense scenes. The edit took out all the weird tangents and made it boring, like a normal bad movie instead of a glorious disaster. Has anyone else run into a 'remaster' or fan cut that totally killed the magic of a so-bad-it's-good classic?

Disagree completely lmao. The fan edits always miss the point. The Room works because of how weird and broken it is, not in spite of it. Cutting out the rooftop football scene or the random dresser photos just turns it into a sad regular movie.

Yeah that "miss the point" thing happens everywhere, people polish the rough edges off stuff that only works because of its flaws.

Oh man, @rileygarcia and nguyen.blake are both right in their own way. I always catch myself trying to improve things that are perfect because they're a mess, like my attempts at fixing my own cooking disasters.
