It's easy to feel swamped by all those perfect loaves people post. My own scoring usually turns out messy, more like a mistake than a design. All that online show can make a calming hobby feel like a contest. At the end of the day, what matters is the warm, good bread you get to eat. A pretty cut doesn't make it taste any better. We just have to keep baking for ourselves, not for likes.
