I looked up how many tweets actually get deleted for breaking rules

Okay but come on, is a tweet really that serious? It's just text on a screen. The idea that a few people in an office somewhere are the final judges of what's too mean for the internet is kind of a joke. They probably just look for the absolute worst stuff and ignore the rest because what else can they do. Getting worked up over a 1% removal rate feels like missing the bigger picture that none of this actually matters.

My disaster at the county fair bake-off made me change my whole buttercream recipe

Is it really that big a deal if a pie slumps at a fair? You changed your whole recipe for a once a year event in extreme heat. Most pies are eaten indoors where normal buttercream works fine. Shortening makes things taste worse to me, so I'd rather just not enter a contest on a 95 degree day.

I'm still running old school 2-wire sensors on my own house and people think I'm nuts

Exactly, it's all about the care. When @diana_carr66 says "simple things last if you take care of them," that's the whole point. People forget that taking care of something means more than just oil changes. It's listening for new sounds, fixing small leaks right away, and not pushing it when it's clearly struggling. That truck is still running because someone paid real attention to it for years, not just followed a schedule.

I swore by silent cab time until a wrong bucket request had everyone laughing

Actually seems like all that extra talking could just add more noise and slow things down. Skyler945's point about tiny mistakes is fair, but sometimes you just need to trust the first call and move fast. More words mean more chances to mishear something anyway. The real fix is paying better attention the first time, not adding another step.

Remember when we had to hand-calc all the expansion rates on that big Chicago job?

Total game changer, right? We had the same thing happen with load calcs on a hospital retrofit. My old boss fought the software tooth and nail until he saw it spit out a full report in twenty minutes. What was the hardest job you did before switching over?
