Why does nobody talk about the guilt of using box mix for a bake sale?
I used a box mix for cookies at our school bake sale and felt bad lying about them being homemade. It's not fair to buyers who think they're getting something special. Just be upfront so no one gets tricked.

My kid's school bake sale rules allow box mixes. They care more about participation than perfect homemade goods.

Honestly, the pressure to make everything from scratch is unreal. I remember one time I spent hours on cookies only to have kids prefer the store-bought ones. Box mixes level the playing field so everyone can join in without stress. If the school is cool with it, that's all that matters. Feeling sneaky about it is just extra baggage nobody needs.

Ugh, I totally get that. I once brought brownies from a mix to a potluck and called them homemade. When people raved about them, I had this awful knot in my stomach. You're right, it's way better to just say it's from a box. Most folks are just happy to have a sweet treat anyway. That guilt of feeling sneaky is the worst part.

Rodriguez.jana, you actually told people those potluck brownies were homemade? I'm shocked you'd go that far with a lie. The whole point of a bake sale is to raise money, not to prove your baking skills. Just say it's from a box and move on. Nobody is judging you that hard, and you save yourself the stomach knot.
