Our library's banned book display actually worked this time
We set up a small banned books table at the public library branch near my place last Saturday. I thought nobody would care, but a mom with two kids stopped and asked why some books get pulled. I showed her the challenged list from our state, and she picked up 'The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian' for her son. By the end of the day, all 14 copies we put out were gone. Has anyone else done a display that got a bigger reaction than expected?

Did y'all accidentally order 14 extra copies or something? Because that's the only reason I can think of for a banned book display to actually clear out. Honestly, the second someone tells kids they CAN'T read something it becomes the hottest thing in the building. You basically ran a black market book deal right there in the open. Next time just put a "do not touch" sign on the table and watch people climb over each other. Maybe throw in a fake warning label about how it contains dangerous ideas. That'll really get them flying off the shelves.
