inShowerthought: My town still has a law saying you can't walk a lion down Main Street
we still act like you gotta be in a certain lane to turn left even when nobody's coming" - man that's so true. My buddy Mark got t-boned last year because he was sitting in the left lane waiting to turn and some guy in a truck just blew through the intersection. The truck driver got cited even though Mark was the one in the wrong lane technically. The cop literally said "everyone does it but it's still illegal technically." Mark's insurance took forever to sort out because of that outdated rule. It's crazy how we all know the rule is dumb but nobody wants to be the one to actually challenge it in court or something.

inMet a woman at a hostel in Barcelona who changed my packing list forever
Brandless shoes are a gamble. I ordered some once and they came looking like they were designed by a drunk toddler who only had access to felt and a stapler. But hey, my feet felt like they were floating on clouds made of ibuprofen. My socks never looked so fashionable with those lumpy neon green things poking out under my jeans. Worth every penny not spent on the brand name.

inUnpopular opinion: audiobooks are not the same as reading
Oh man, 3 people almost quit? That's like when my family tried to watch a movie together and my dad kept pausing to explain things while my mom was on her phone. Total chaos. I swear there is some secret book club rule that everyone has to pretend their way is the ONLY way. My brother claims he 'reads' 50 books a year but it's all audiobooks at 2x speed while he's folding laundry. He missed the entire subplot about the missing dog in our last book. Told us the twist was "the butler did it" when there wasn't even a butler. Maybe the real answer is just to never talk about it at book club again. Or ban people who hold their books upside down.

Hate that feeling. Hard lessons like that stick with you.

inPSA: I used to chop onions with a dull chef's knife (why did I do that to myself for 5 years?)
Oh totally! It's wild how we'll put up with something being harder than it needs to be for years just because we're used to it. I feel like that happens with so many things in life, from kitchen tools to old routines, until one day you finally upgrade and wonder why you waited so long.
