PSA: A kid's allergic reaction in my chair changed my consultation process.
It happened at my shop in Portland after I used a new pomade with a strong almond scent. Now I ask about skin and scent allergies for every single client, no exceptions.

I mean asking every single client seems like overkill. Most people would speak up if they had a serious allergy.

That's a scary thing to have happen right in your chair. Asking a simple question is a tiny bit of work to stop a huge problem. It just seems like basic care to me.

Imagine trusting people to speak up when their face is about to melt off. My friend's cousin just assumed her dye was fine and spent a week looking like a boiled lobster. Basic care beats a lawsuit any day.
