Finally switched to a three-pass system after a barber in Austin told me to let the clippers do the work, and now I finish a fade in 20 minutes instead of 45 - has anyone else had that moment where you realize you've been overcomplicating something simple for years?

Wait are you saying you actually get a clean fade with just three passes? lol. I tried that whole "let the clippers do the work" thing and ended up looking like I let a blind squirrel finish my fade. Honestly I think different head shapes and hair types mean you gotta go slower sometimes, 20 minutes just sounds too fast for anything that actually looks good.

Yeah I feel that... the whole "fast and easy" thing only really works if you've already got the muscle memory down. I learned the hard way that rushing through a fade just leaves you staring in the mirror wondering how you messed up something that looked so simple on YouTube. It's one of those things where you gotta respect the process no matter how tempting shortcuts seem.
