Swapped my scheduled posts for reply-first strategy and engagement tripled
I used to spend Sundays mapping out a weeks worth of content in Buffer, every post perfectly timed for 9am. Then I noticed my replies to other people's posts were getting way more traction than my own stuff. Started just jumping on trending topics in my niche within the hour and dropping a quick take, no scheduling at all. Now I do maybe 3 scheduled posts a week and the rest is pure reaction timing. Anyone else ditch their editorial calendar for a chaos approach and see better numbers?
not really a chaos approach though, it's more like reactive content. the trick is you still need to watch trends and know your niche inside out, otherwise you just look like you're shouting into the void. i tried this last month and found the engagement spike was mostly from people who already followed me, not new eyes. so the scheduled posts might be doing more heavy lifting than you think, the replies just look better in the moment lol
