Swore by wax chains for years... just switched to a dry lube and I'm shocked
I always thought wax was the only way to keep my drivetrain quiet, but a buddy in Denver talked me into trying a Squirt lube after 3 muddy rides wrecked my chain. How do you guys deal with wet conditions without going back to grease?

Ditch the wax and just use a wet lube in nasty conditions, it's way less hassle and your chain won't sound like a squeaky toy after one wet ride. I run Finish Line Wet on my commuter through New England winters and it handles grit and slush way better than any wax ever did for me (plus it's half the price).

Man that Finish Line Wet is no joke for nasty weather, I ran it on my mountain bike through a whole slushy winter and it held up way better than I expected. After trying a few waxes that just washed off in the first puddle I gave up on them for wet conditions too.

Whoa, yeah that wet lube stuff is no joke for bad weather. A buddy of mine tried wax one winter and his chain sounded like a dying bird after his first ride through slush... he was so fed up he almost quit biking altogether. Finally his brother loaned him some wet lube and he said it was like night and day, the chain actually stayed quiet and clean for weeks. He told me he even rode through a puddle that was deeper than he thought and the lube didn't budge... just kept on going. Now he won't touch wax again unless he's doing a dry summer ride and even then he's hesitant.
