That old shop guy told me to stop using a torque wrench on aluminum posts
He said 5 Nm max on my carbon seatpost clamp and I stripped the bolt at 6 Nm last Tuesday, has anyone else had better luck just going by feel on those?

Man, that stripped bolt is rough, but did you actually use a fresh one or was it the same one from before? I mean, those little bolts wear out fast and can grab wrong even at the right torque. Maybe the real issue is the bolt, not the wrench setting.
