Hot take: my foreman at the Gary job was wrong about tube rolling, and it cost us a week
Everyone on my crew swore you gotta roll tubes in two passes to get a good seal, and our foreman Rick pushed that hard on a 400 tube boiler in Gary, Indiana. I tried it his way first and we had 11 leaking joints on hydro. A retired guy named Sal who was just there for the punch list showed me to roll once, slow, with the torque set right, and we passed the retest clean the next morning. Anybody else find that one slow pass beats two fast ones, or is it just certain tube sheets?
