Finally broke 80 on the 19th hole, now I'm doubting every score I've ever shot
Got invited to play the bonus hole at my club in Tulsa last Saturday. It's this weird par 3 that sits behind the 18th green, only 132 yards but with a bunker shaped like a horseshoe. I hit a 9 iron to about 4 feet and rolled in the putt for birdie. The thing is, that gave me a 79 for the round if I count the bonus hole, and I've never broken 80 in 11 years of playing. My buddy Dave laughed and said it doesn't count since it's not on the scorecard. But now I can't stop thinking about how tight my actual game is getting. I mean, I shot a 43 on the front and a 42 on the back, so adding the birdie makes it feel like I'm improving, but it's also a fluke hole that nobody tracks. Has anyone else used a bonus hole to hit a milestone that technically doesn't count? Do you write it in the scorecard anyway, just for yourself?

Count the 79 in your head, Dave doesn't get a vote on your milestones.
