Vent: that 19th hole tradition at Sunset Pines is getting out of hand

Tbh, Ive been playing at Sunset Pines in Dayton for about 3 years now and last week I finally had enough. Everyone loves the extra par 3 they added behind the clubhouse, but they turned it into this whole ceremonial thing with a bell you gotta ring and a shot glass on a stick. Last month I watched a guy take 11 strokes just trying to hit the bell before putting, and the group behind us was just standing there laughing. I get that it's meant to be fun for tiebreakers, but some of us actually use that hole to settle a real match against our buddies. Ngl, I think the club is trying too hard to make it a tourist attraction instead of a golf hole. Maybe Im the grump here, but has anyone else seen a bonus hole get ruined by extra gimmicks that slow down the round?

That shot glass on a stick thing sounds like a recipe for a broken wrist and a 40 minute backup. Tbh I'd probably be the guy ringing the bell 3 times and still carding a 9, so maybe don't listen to me. But yeah, a bonus hole should be quick and fun, not a whole show for the crowd.

Ha, my buddy tried a similar setup at his bachelor party, some keg on a lazy susan thing. He whiffed so hard he spun it into the pond and we spent 20 minutes fishing it out with a rake. So yeah, quick and fun beats a whole production every time.
