Finally caved and bought a proper guillotine cutter after years of using a utility knife and ruler
I spent $280 on a used Dahle 560 last week after my hand slipped on a hundred dollar text block and gouged the edges something awful. That one mistake cost me the whole project plus the materials, so the cutter paid for itself after just that one mess up. Has anyone else had a bad accident with a simple hand tool that pushed you into upgrading?

Man that's a bit dramatic don't you think. A gouged text block is annoying but it's not the end of the world.

Ripped my thumbnail clean off with a dull utility knife, so yeah, I get it.

Wait, the thumbnail came completely off? Like the whole thing? Man, I dropped a box on my foot once and that was bad enough but that sounds way worse.
