Just found out moss can survive being completely dried out for decades

I was reading a random article about desert plants late last night and stumbled on a fact that threw me. Apparently some moss species can dry up, look totally dead, and then come back to life after 40 years when you add water. I had to double check the source because it sounded like some internet myth, but it was from a university study out of California. Has anyone else tried reviving dried moss they found in an old pot or on a hiking trail?

Man, I actually revived some moss from an old flower pot that had been sitting in my garage for like five years. It looked like dry dirt clumps, but after soaking it for a few hours and keeping it damp for a week, it turned GREEN again. Wild stuff, nature is basically showing off at this point.
