My greenhouse buddy told me I was overwatering, now I've cut back to twice a week
After 4 months of fighting yellow leaves on my ferns, she showed me the roots were literally rotting in the pot, so now I'm testing a moisture meter and checking the top inch before every watering, has anyone else had to unlearn their instinct to just keep watering?
My grandma had a rule about her African violets, water them every Sunday no matter what. Took me killing three of those before I realized she was watering in a different climate and with different pots. The real kicker was when I started weighing my pots, once a fern pot gets light its screaming for water, heavy means its fine. Your moisture meter is good but the weight trick saved my collection, you can feel the difference in like two weeks.
