My old brick chisel gave out on a chimney repair in Akron

It was a cold Tuesday morning, maybe 20 degrees. I was working on a chimney repoint job. Went to tap out a bad brick and the head just snapped clean off. Thing was my dad's, probably 40 years old. Had to run to the supply house for a new one. Anyone got a brand that holds up better to the cold?

Man, that's rough losing a tool with that kind of history. Cold like that will do it, for sure. Sorry you had to make that supply run in the freeze.

That old steel gets brittle, right? Try a modern alloy.

Willowg88 says modern alloy, but that old steel had a temper you just don't find now.
