Figured out why my beans always came out bland and it was 1 cheap fix
For years I cooked dry beans in my slow cooker with just water and a little salt and they always tasted flat. Last week my neighbor Rosa in San Antonio told me she adds a whole onion and a bay leaf at the start and it costs like 40 cents extra. I tried it with a pot of black beans on Sunday and the difference was huge, way more flavor for almost nothing. Does anyone else have a cheap trick like that for soups or beans?
