I gave up on $1 ramen hacks after a bad week with a rice cooker
Everyone in this group swears by bulk rice and beans, but I tried the 'cook a whole bag of pinto beans overnight' tip last Tuesday and woke up to a mushy mess that took 30 minutes to scrub off the pot. The math said $12 for 5 pounds, but the time and cleanup made it not worth it for me. What do you all actually do when the cheap staple just doesn't work out for your setup?
Laugh at my own rice cooker regret every time I see it in the cupboard, honestly. I tried the overnight bean thing once and ended up with a science experiment that smelled like a gym sock. Now I just buy the canned stuff and call it a win, even if it costs a dollar more.
