Bought a $15 hostelling international membership last minute
Saved $30 on a single night in a hostel in Lisbon because of it. Anybody else ever grab those memberships just for one trip and end up keeping it?

Got the exact same deal last year in Barcelona. Used it once, figured I'd toss the card, but kept renewing cause it paid for itself every time. Now I'm that person who whips it out at check in like it's a VIP pass.

Loyalty programs for hostels are actually a solid move if you travel a lot. I've seen some where you stack up points for free nights or upgrades to better rooms. Definitely beats the usual hotel points since hostels tend to be way cheaper anyway. You basically become a regular at a few spots and they start hooking you up with discounts or late checkouts. Might as well lean into it and see what perks you can squeeze out of them.
