DAE figure out that booking the first flight of the morning saves real cash?
Last month my flight from Austin to Phoenix jumped from $140 to $210 every time I picked a midday departure. Out of frustration I checked the 6am one, and it was $98. I also googled why, and it turns out the first plane out is cheaper because the airline needs it in place for the day's schedule. Booked it and slept on the plane, no problem. Anyone else plan their trips around the earliest flight just to save money?
Morning flights being cheaper is real but the 4am alarm kills me every time. The savings are nice until you're a zombie at your hotel by 2pm and waste the whole first day. Worth it for shorter hops, not sure about long ones.
