Pro tip: ditch the hotel for a night in a Japanese internet cafe
I used to book cheap hostels in Tokyo for like $40 a night, but last trip I got desperate after missing the last train and crashed at a manga cafe for $15. They gave me a private booth, free drinks, and a shower pass, which felt like a weird luxury hack. Anyone tried something similar in other cities?

That "weird luxury hack" sounds like a rough night to me.

I used to feel the same way about those fancy travel pillows. Then I tried the Trtl on a 14 hour flight to Tokyo. It actually keeps your head up without choking you. Woke up without that awful neck crick. Changed my whole view on airport sleep.

My buddy swore by his Trtl after a red-eye to London. He said it looked silly but he slept straight through the whole flight. Now he won't travel without the thing.
