Realized I was paying $60 a month for a gym I never used

I signed up for a fancy gym back in February, all motivated. Went maybe twice. Then kept telling myself I'd go next week. My bank app finally showed the total: $420 gone. Cancelled it this morning. Now I just walk around my neighborhood for free.

$420 is a rough number to see hit your account like that. But at least you caught it after 7 months instead of letting it ride for a year like some people do. Walking is honestly underrated anyway, easier on the joints and saves you the hassle of parking.

Yeah I actually read a study a while back that said people who walk to work regularly save like $1,200 a year on gas and parking combined. So $420 stings but it's basically paying for a few months of that freedom lol. And honestly I get what Angela is saying about distance being a factor but even just walking part of the way or parking further out helps. I saw somewhere that 30 mins of walking a day cuts your risk of joint problems by like 20% so it's not all bad.

I don't know, is 420 really that bad? I mean yeah it stings but people act like it's the end of the world. You weren't going to starve over that were you? And walking is fine but some people live miles from work, not everyone can just hoof it like it's no big deal. Feels like we're making a mountain out of a molehill here honestly.
