Shoutout to the farmers market that saved my grocery budget

I went to the downtown farmers market in Greenville last Saturday expecting higher prices like everyone warns about. Instead I walked out with a whole bag of veggies for $12 that would have cost me $25 at the big chain store. Is anyone else finding that local markets are actually cheaper if you skip the fancy stuff like artisanal honey?

Isn't it funny how the "fancy" stuff is what jacks up the prices at those places...

Yeah but I actually don't mind paying for those touches if they're done well. Good ingredients and someone who actually knows how to cook are worth the extra few bucks. I went to a place last week that charged 18 for a burger and it came with hand cut fries and a house made sauce that was legit amazing. Way better than a 12 dollar burger from a chain where everything comes frozen.
