That 5% cashback rule my neighbor mentioned finally clicked for me
I was complaining to my neighbor about how my grocery budget always creeps up no matter what I do. He just said 'stop using your debit card for everything, 5% back adds up if you pick the right category each quarter.' I honestly never paid attention to rotating categories before. I signed up for a card that does 5% on groceries this quarter and after 2 months my budget is actually under by like $40. For real, that small change made me rethink how I pay for everything. Anyone else had a random comment from a neighbor or friend totally flip how you handle spending?

YES my neighbor literally changed my whole cashback game too, it's wild how that works out!

My buddy saved $80 a month after his landlord mentioned using a cashback app for prescriptions.

My buddy's landlord was the one who told him about that too... weird how that happens. He said he started using GoodRx for his blood pressure meds and it was like half the regular price at CVS. Told me he almost cried when he saw the difference, been paying full price for years. Cashback apps are alright but sometimes the pharmacy will just price match if you ask.

Oh wait do those cashback apps actually stack with regular insurance or do you have to pick one or the other? Ive been paranoid about messing up my coverage so I never tried it but $80 a month is no joke. Might be worth the risk if the savings are that good lol.
