Wasted $40 on a fancy journaling system I never used

Picked up a modular disk planner thing last month because it looked cool online. Bought the punch, the disks, the special paper. Total was like $40 and I got one week of pages in. Ended up back in my plain old dotted notebook anyway. Anyone else drop cash on a system that just didn't stick?

wait, so did you actually enjoy the whole setup process more than the planning itself? because i feel like buying the gear is half the fun for me, and then the actual using part just never hits the same.

$40 for a punch and some plastic rings is wild when you think about it. I did the same thing with a filofax style binder back in 2017, bought the leather cover and all the inserts, used it for maybe three grocery lists. The part that kills me is how the special paper just sits there in a drawer, reminding me of my choices every time I dig for a pen.
