Reached 30 people I've cut off and honestly feel lighter
This sounds weird to count, but I hit 30 last month when I finally stopped answering my cousin's calls after she kept borrowing money and never once said thanks. It wasn't a big blowup or anything, just a slow realization that every conversation left me drained for hours. I made a list on my phone of everyone I've walked away from in the last 12 years, and 30 felt like a lot until I saw most of them were people who only showed up when they needed something. The last one, my old neighbor from the apartments on 5th Street, called me a jerk for not lending her my car, and that was my final straw. Now I check my phone at the end of the week and there's no panic, no guilt spiral, just quiet. I know 30 sounds harsh, but has anyone else ever kept a rough count, and did it make you question your own role in those breakups or double down on the decision?
